Rasmus Nossbring, one of Sweden’most exciting young artists, born in 1991 and awarded several prestigious prizes.
Following his apprenticeship, which he started at the age of 15, Nossbring was hired at Reijmyre glassworks near his hometown, Norrköping, directly after graduation, just turned 18, where he worked in the factory for five years.
From early in his career, Rasmus Nossbring has taken every chance to educate himself internationally — in famous glass schools such as Pilchuck in Washington and Corning in New Jersey in the USA, as well as in Israel and the Czech Republic.
During his travels, and for his masters degree at Konstfack, Nossbring developed his unique artistic expression in figurative glass sculpture: a powerful personal surrealistic presence. He draws inspiration from music and poetry — and from favorite artists such as Egon Shiele, Jean-Michel Basquiat and his slightly senior Swedish sculptor colleague Joakim Ojanen.
Rasmus Nossbring’s art is represented in the permanent collections of the National Museum in Stockholm, Sweden’s Public Art Agency, the Färgfabriken art hall and The Glass Factory, among other institutions. He has been awarded several prestigious prizes, most recently Young Artisan of the Year by the Friends of The National Museum in Stockholm in 2021.
